Day 2: Making of a Reading List

Since it is summer and one must have high hopes from it, I have decided to assign myself a reading list. Perhaps it is – as a friend said once – the joy of writing it out loud that makes making lists like these so exciting. I hope to finish it, and – ooh how exciting – even report it. Here it goes, my “Summer Reading List”, in no particular order:

  1. Sidewalks, Valeria Luiselli
  2. Chapel Road, Louis Paul Boon
  3. Flights, Olga Togarczuk
  4. Drive your Plow over the Bones of the Dead, Olga Togarczuk
  5. Snow, Orhan Pamuk
  6. In the Presence of Absence, Mahmoud Darwish
  7. Berlin Stories, Robert Walser
  8. The Lonely City, Olivia Lang
  9. River, Esther Kinsky
  10. Poker, Tomaž Šalamun
  11. Tramp, Tomas Espedal
  12. Tinkers, Paul Harding
  13. Somanatha, Romila Thapar
  14. 3 Summers, Lisa Robertson
