Day 4: There’s a science to walking through windows

I think it is a decent time to proclaim that I have been stanning The National for a long time. I have done everything from listening to every song they have ever created to stalking Tumblr to look for Matt Berninger GIFs.

Like, you know, swoon over this^

Or, you know, I just listen to them for hours and hours while I work. My entire thesis was written to Dark Side of the Gym and The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness

I may or may not have teared up when I listened to this for the first time

Which leads me to today. Today after having realised that the Berlin leg of the concert is sold out I flipped out (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

And then I actually bought a ticket. A concert ticket. After years of living in a country where The National actually come to play music, I am going to go watch them play in December!! Shout-out to Coffee and Flowers for pushing me to it with their grand podcast. For the uninitiated, the title of the post today is a line from the grand soundtrack of my life, “Graceless”.

Podcast recommendation of the day? Along with Coffee and Flowers, let me add one more to the stack: Radiolab’s miniseries “G” has been such a success. The latest one deals with something very sobering: forced sterilization which – by the way – exists in many parts of the world, including in the United States. This one is quite sensitive. Just a heads up…
